Sherman Tank CompleteThe Wright Museum’s Sherman Tank Restoration has been completed
On May 20th the thirty-five ton Sherman was pulled out of the barn, loaded onto a (great big) trailer and hauled down to Northeast Military Vehicle Services in Milford, MA where it has been restored to running condition. For years museum visitors have asked “why is there no Sherman tank-wasn’t it the US Army’s primary fighting vehicle during World War II?” It was, and now that the restoration has been completed, the tank will be returned to the museum on Wednesday, October 19, 2011.
Update: The tank will be on display beginning in the Spring of 2012.

Didn’t know the museum had one? The Wright Museum’s Sherman has been here for many years, but not on display. The tank had been sitting in a state of disrepair in the equipment barn.
